Reminiscent of Ibsen's "An Enemy Of The People". A gripping story, well worth downloading.

I thought that this 1977 made for tv movie was very good. The story revolves around a young African-American doctor who works in an inner city hospital. Dr. Stoner is very passionate about caring for the people in his neighborhood and the people just love him for it. He seems to know everyone in the neighborhood by their first name ( I have lived in the same apt. for 6 years and don't know who my neighbors are but I am sure they are up to no good )and all the young folk idolize him. The good doctor has conflicts with his boss at the hospital and with his fellow doctors. When people start showing up at the hospital with some kind of serious ailment Dr. Stoner is able to trace the cause back to contaminated water pipes installed in their building by a sleaze bag contractor. In the meantime he manages to perform surgery , romance a lovely rich girlfriend , tick off a public health inspector , get into an argument with a snooty high society plastic surgeon , play his guitar , help the local kids with their video project , visit a construction site and get beat up by some goons ( lucky that he is a doctor ). He is sort of a younger,more handsome, better dressed and less pious version of Dr. Hawkeye Pierce of the M.A.S.H. 4077 army medical unit. The acting and writing in this movie , in my opinion is very good and I enjoyed watching the film. I found the doctor and his friends to be very likable characters. A good drama that the whole family can watch. The audio/video quality of the download was good.

This is a touching movie. It brought many people to tears. It seems that the characters have been carefully built. They have great qualities and actions, spacebar clicker. The plot is also great.
